Janssen Pharmaceutica is a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Beerse, Belgium.  Janssen is one of the world’s leading research-based pharmaceutical companies and part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies which is the largest diversified healthcare group in the world.

Imbruvica is a small molecule drug that binds permanently to a protein, Bruton’s tyrosine kinase, that is important in B cells. It is used to treat B cell cancers like mantle cell lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), and Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia.

The client requested to produce an eDetail to reflect the need for a bridge to be created between the core IMBRUVICA message and 5 patient indications.  Our target group is haematologists and oncologists via sales reps.

The Challenge

The scope of this work was the development of digital content, creating digital interactive objects, and prepare an application that connected to CMS. The eDetail aid was to be revised based on new IMBRUVICA data. One of our main objectives was to keep customers up-to-date on the latest IMBRUVICA data and reinforce the durability of IMBRUVICA efficacy across indications with longer-term results.

My Role

I created information architecture based on a content framework, sitemap, online interactive prototype, functional specification documents for the development.

The Approach

The navigational approach was based on native CMS with a left/right swipe through core sections and additional contents could be accessed via CTAs. In order to use the tool effectively within a limited presentation time of HCP, we created clear, easy to understand visual language with smooth animations and interactions in order to reduce cognitive load. Problems and Solutions

The sector-specific regulations, limitations about content, the existence of highly technical data and client’s strict guidelines are the main challenges we had to solve. With the talented subject matter experts, we successfully completed and delivered the product. It is already using in the field by sale reps and also has been presented at several congresses.
